The Senior IT Architect / IT Architect (Application) is responsible for providing strategic technical directions, design and implementation principle on Application, API and Microservice architecture to the Bank. The right candidate becomes a member of our IT Architect Office which is the technical authority to govern, design and build enterprise-level architecture for the Bank.

Job Responsibilities

• Build Enterprise Application Architecture to align with the technology roadmaps of the Bank.
• Define end-to-end IT strategy, standard and process, establish framework and operation model for API-led and Microservices architecture applications on cloud-based and container platform.
• Develop and maintain architecture principles, standards and best practices related to enterprise architectures, and ensure they are consistently applied.
• Facilitate legacy applications transformation to new API platform and Microservice architecture.
• Standardize CI/CD setup for DevSecOps, API management tools and automated deployment with API monitoring and service management mechanisms.
• Identify, evaluate and manage the associated risks related to Application and Cloud architecture.
• Research, identify, and evaluate new technologies or products in the related area that are of value to IT strategy.
• Provide advisories for technology innovations for business challenges.
  
  

• Degree holder in Computer Science, Information Technology or related disciplines.
• At least 10 years of post-qualification IT experience with minimum 5 years in Application Architect related roles, preferably in banking or financial services industries.
• Strong experience in managing enterprise IT application architecture, and providing advisories for technical solution of various IT projects and applications of the Bank.
• Strong understanding of enterprise IT application architectures, particularly in IaaS, PaaS, SaaS enterprise cloud computing and containerized architectures and technology.
• Experience in working with Kubernetes container platform, Cloud platform, GitLab, CI/CD pipeline is a plus.
• Experience in digital transformation, transforming from Monolithic to Microservice application, Domain Driven Design (DDD) is a great plus.
• Good understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks, such as TOGAF.
• Good knowledge of emerging technologies, market best practices and industry trends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and/or Mandarin).
• Proven strategic thinker to provide big picture and visions for future technology development.
• Self-motivated, open mindsets, good problem solving and troubleshooting skills with strong "can-do" attitude.
• Holder of related professional certificates will be an added advantage.

• Collaborate with Cyber Security leadership to develop and manage a portfolio of critical services for business and IT stakeholders, ensuring high-quality delivery, gathering feedback, and prioritising improvements within the Cyber Security strategy and operational roadmap
• Develop and maintain the Book of Work (BOW) for Cyber Security initiatives by participating in IT S&P demand prioritisation and QBR processes, integrating the prioritisation framework that is aligned with the Club's overall methodology
• Regularly report on the cyber initiatives’ status, performance, and alignment with organisational goals, providing insights and updates to key stakeholders
• Engage with business and IT stakeholders to maintain transparency, manage expectations, and ensure shared understanding of priorities and objectives

• Provide leadership and mentorship to cross-functional teams involved in cybersecurity initiatives
• Role model a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the Cyber Security Department

• Oversee the deployment and execution of the IGNITION Operating Model, aligning organisational design with strategic goals to enhance delivery capabilities and future-proof the engineering ecosystem
• Spearhead the transformation and adoption of DevSecOps and security by design as part of the HKJC target state operating model
  
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred
• At least 15 years of work experience in the IT industry with 7+ years of experience in IT Service Management or observability solutions across distributed systems, with a strong focus on architecture and integration
• Experience in managing cross-functional teams and collaborating with various stakeholders to drive ITSM improvements
• Ability to provide technical system solutions, determine overall design direction and provide hardware recommendations for complex technical issues
• Strong written and oral communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Proven project and supplier relationship management experience
• In-depth understanding of ITIL frameworks and best practices in ITSM
• Familiarity with industry trends and emerging technologies related to IT operations and service management
• Preferably possess TOGAF, PMP, and ITIL certifications
• Proficiency in ITSM tools such as ServiceNow, BMC Remedy or Helix, or Jira Service Management, including configuration and customization
• Holder of relevant certifications such as Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) or equivalent, with preferred expertise in observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana and ELK stack
• Extensive knowledge of AIOps platforms and SRE methodologies
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure), including their integration with ITSM processes
• Strong experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools to enhance software delivery and operational efficiency
• Experience with monitoring tools and frameworks that support performance management and real-time analytics
