The Azure Specialist Manager is a senior leader within our enterprise sales organization and leads, develops and manages a team of high performing Azure Specialists to drive solution opportunity revenue and market share. This role is a key leader in our overall Azure sales strategy, responsible for coordinating holistic cloud efforts across infrastructure, data, applications, and security. Preferred candidates will carry both cloud technical and business acumen to lead digital transformation efforts with customers that own both technical and decision making, including executive board rooms.

Responsibilities

  • Pipeline and Sales Management: Lead sellers to build and maintain strong, accurate pipeline and drive the Azure business to overachieve revenue, consumption, and scorecard targets
  • Drives strong partnership with sales teams and other teams engaging in the customer (e.g., partners, services, Customer Success, engineering support, etc.) to identify new business opportunities
  • People Management: Develops a high-performing team by hiring diverse talent, prioritizing development, leading by example and by preparing people for more senior positions in other parts of the organization.
  • Coaches Seller’s with a “challenger mentality” by prompting Seller’s to engage early and lead with new insights on how to grow the customers’ business.
  • Customer centricity: Lead from the front, personally engaging at CxO level to support and coach teams on opportunity discovery and acceleration Engages with technical and business leaders on both business and technical outcomes to drive customer value.
  • Partner Engagement: Bring together Microsoft solutions with Partner solutions, fully leverage the synergy effect with Partner solutions, fully leverage the synergy effect with our partners, and co-sell with them to make deals bigger and faster.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field AND 5-8+ years of technology-related sales Management OR
  • 10+ years of experience in solution sales for Azure solutions or similar business public cloud migrations selling software-as-a-service or cloud-based business applications to enterprise customers successfully displacing competitors
  • Sales Account Planning and Management: 5+ years of experience in leading and negotiating multi-million-dollar cloud deals requiring orchestration of large, dispersed, virtual teams composed of industry, solution, technical, licensing & legal team members.
  • People Management: 5+ years demonstrated Sales Team Management experience in Enterprise sales with demonstrated people leader experience able to coach and inspire a diverse team of Sales and Pre- Sales Professionals.
    • Executive Presence: Excels at developing strong relationships and leadership connections to understand customer needs.
    • Partners: Understanding of partner ecosystems and the ability to leverage partner solutions to solve customer needs
  • Cloud Platform: Understanding of Microsoft Azure Cloud platform, or other public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP), including IaaS and PaaS technologies and how they translate into business impact. Versed in cloud migration and modernization
  • Competitive Landscape: Knowledge of enterprise software solutions and cloud and datacenter infrastructure competitor landscape including AWS and GCP

+ Identifies opportunities to drive consumption and grow business with existing customers by initiating conversations, providing demos or quotes, and collaborating with partners or internal teams (e.g., Technical Sales Professionals, Global Black Belts). For licensing transactions and project engagements, ensures rapid and robust deployment plan at point of sale that is validated by services and partners.
+ Identifies customer business needs and technical readiness. Collaborates with internal teams, partners, and services to propose prioritized solutions that align with customers' needs. Leverages the value propositions to communicate business impact of proposed solutions. Listens to customers to understand business outcomes.
+ Develops an understanding of external stakeholders' mapping, including who the decision makers and influencers are. Participates with account teams (e.g., Account Executives) in communication with business or subject matter decision makers at the customer's/partner's business.
+ Implements strategies to help accelerate the closing of deals in collaboration with other team members. Implements close plans (e.g., how to map timeline, engage the customer, get customer buy-in and commitment) to de-risk and drive predictable deal closure.
+ Effective territory/account management: planning, opportunity qualification and creation, analysis, value engineering, services/partner engagement, opportunity management, pipeline management and deal negotiation.
+ Problem Solver. Ability to solve customer problems through cloud technologies.
+ Business Value. Ability to utilize tools such as the Azure Pricing Calculator, Azure ROI Tool, and Azure TCO Tool to generate consumption project cost estimates and demonstrate Cloud economic value to customers, is preferable.

The Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and optimize scalable end-to-end data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform structured and unstructured data from diverse sources, including APIs, databases, files, web scraping .
  • Develop and manage robust ETL/ELT workflows for both batch and real-time data processing (Kafka) .
  • Utilize Databricks and Spark (including PySpark and Spark SQL) for distributed big data processing, data cleaning, enrichment, aggregation, and advanced transformation, ensuring compatibility with downstream systems.
  • Implement and manage data storage solutions following the Medallion Architecture with Delta Lake, including schema evolution, table management, and ACID-compliant data transactions.

  • Solid experience in designing, building, optimizing data pipelines and workflows using databricks, Apache Spark, Python, SQL for large volume data processing
  • Be familiar with Azure services such as data lake storage, data factory, SQL database, event hubs. Azure DevOps for CI/CD.
  • Possess compliance mindset and have the concept of data quality checking, monitoring, and documentation

Principal Consultant- Data & Technologies APAC at WilliamSELECT

The Company

This hire sits within group technology hub of a reputable global business of its field. They are currently seeking for an experienced Data Engineer to join their Group Data Team to support digital transformations, data projects/ initiatives using cutting- edge technology.

The Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and optimize scalable end-to-end data pipelines to ingest, process, and transform structured and unstructured data from diverse sources, including APIs, databases, files, web scraping .
  • Develop and manage robust ETL/ELT workflows for both batch and real-time data processing (Kafka) .
  • Utilize Databricks and Spark (including PySpark and Spark SQL) for distributed big data processing, data cleaning, enrichment, aggregation, and advanced transformation, ensuring compatibility with downstream systems.
  • Implement and manage data storage solutions following the Medallion Architecture with Delta Lake, including schema evolution, table management, and ACID-compliant data transactions.
  • Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering, particularly within the Azure and Databricks ecosystem , to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

The Requirements

  • 4- 8 years of relevant experience in data engineering
  • Solid experience in designing, building, optimizing data pipelines and workflows using databricks, Apache Spark, Python, SQL for large volume data processing
  • Be familiar with Azure services such as data lake storage, data factory, SQL database, event hubs. Azure DevOps for CI/CD.
  • Possess compliance mindset and have the concept of data quality checking, monitoring, and documentation
  • Language skill in English and Chinese. Willingness to work with counterparts in different countries.

  • Collaborate with application development, system team and infrastructure team to develop DevOps tools, framework solution, monitoring solution and cloud platform management solution
  • Research new technologies, techniques, and 3rd party frameworks to benefit the automation, application development and cloud platform management
  • Develop and enforce best practices and policies for application deployment and cloud infrastructure maintenance
  • Improve reliability, availability, and performance of the highly scaling cloud systems with recovery automation
  • Monitor the systems, infrastructure, and cloud services to ensure their high availability and quality
  • Provide professional IT ad-hoc duties as required
Requirements:
  • University Graduate in Computer Science or related disciplines
  • Familiar with Java, Nodejs, Python at least one programming language and popular open-source frameworks
  • At least 2 years’ experience in developing or using DevOps tools and CI/CD pipeline, Cloud experience, preferably in Azure/AliCloud
  • Experience with Container technologies (e.g., Kubernetes, Rancher, AKS, ACK etc…)
  • Knowledge with Service Mesh technologies (e.g. Istio), big data technologies, cloud native application design and cloud management skills is a plus
