Team / division overview

The CFO Division of DWS has a presence in Frankfurt, London, New York, and APAC and is responsible for risk, finance and procurement management. It comprises Risk, Procurement and Finance. Finance includes Investor Relations, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Tax, as well as Capital & Liquidity Management, Regional CFOs/Finance and Corporate Accounting. The APAC locations comprise Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, Australia, Philippines, India, Japan, Taiwan and China.

Role Details

You will be responsible for all finance, local regulatory and tax reporting, forecasting and planning, as well as treasury activities, including interaction with external bodies, local internal stakeholders and global peers across APAC locations. You will also lead our transition from SAP R/3 to SAP S/4 Hana in the region.

Responsibilities
  • Be the primary contact for external bodies and internal stakeholders for any finance, tax or treasury related aspects
  • Support entity boards across DWS APAC locations and serve as a board member where applicable, providing commercial financial guidance
  • Lead and develop a team of local CFOs across multiple APAC locations, supported by the team in the Philippines
  • Drive proactive financial analyses and contribute financials for key presentations to senior decision makers
  • Deliver solutions for finance issues collaboratively with other teams
  • Ensure integrity and controls over financial records and compliance with statutory, accounting, regulatory, tax and transfer pricing requirements
  • Lead various strategic projects from an APAC CFO perspective
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant degree equivalent
  • ICAEW or ACCA qualified
  • Minimum of 10 years of leadership experience with staff across multiple APAC locations (e.g., Singapore, Hong Kong, Korea, Australia, Philippines, India, Japan, Taiwan, China), including experience with a European Asset Manager in auditing, tax, accounting and finance including local regulatory reporting
  • Excellent written and spoken English; Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese) strongly preferred
  • Strong stakeholder management with Boards, advisory and regulatory interactions
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with strong analytical and interpersonal skills and teamwork
  • Profound knowledge of SAP R/3 and ideally SAP S/4 Hana
  • Tax and treasury knowledge across APAC locations; IFRS and local GAAP accounting
  • IPO and M&A experience; prior Board membership across APAC preferred
