About the job
The Finance Analyst will play a key role in supporting the Senior Finance Manager to deliver Regional Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) for Sony Pictures Television Distribution (TVD) and Home Entertainment (HE) across the APAC region.
Based in either Hong Kong or Singapore (depending on the successful candidate and business needs), this role is responsible for supporting the preparation and consolidation of regional contribution forecasts, budgets and long-range plans, while leading the planning and forecasting of APAC regional overheads.
Working in close partnership with territory finance teams, Home Office Finance and Global Financial Operations, you'll provide meaningful financial insights, help drive consistency across regional planning processes, and contribute to finance transformation initiatives through automation, SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) dashboards and the adoption of emerging technologies.
What You'll Do
Planning, Budgeting, Forecasting & Reporting:
+ Support the preparation, consolidation and review of budgets, quarterly forecasts and long-range plans (MRPs) for APAC TV Distribution and Home Entertainment.
+ Coordinate planning submissions across APAC, acting as the key liaison between territory finance teams and Home Office Finance to ensure complete, consistent and timely submissions.
+ Prepare financial schedules, reporting packs and presentations for Regional Leadership and Home Office Finance.
+ Develop expertise in Sony planning systems including RPM, SAP BPC and other financial planning tools.
Overheads Planning & Cost Management
+ Lead the annual budget, quarterly forecast and monthly outlook process for APAC regional overheads.
+ Partner with budget owners to develop accurate expense forecasts and identify risks and opportunities.
+ Manage the regional headcount forecasting process through the PowerApps planning tool, ensuring accurate and timely forecasts aligned to budget assumptions.
+ Monitor overhead performance against budget, providing insightful variance analysis and recommendations.
Regional FP&A & Performance Reporting
+ Support the delivery of Regional FP&A activities across APAC through the preparation of timely, accurate and insightful management reporting.
+ Analyze regional financial performance, highlighting key trends, risks, opportunities and forecast variances to support Regional Leadership and Home Office Finance.
+ Assist in the preparation of financial analyses, presentations and reporting packs for regional business reviews, forecast submissions and strategic planning discussions.
+ Partner with territory finance teams to promote consistency in reporting methodologies, planning assumptions and performance metrics across the APAC region.
+ Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and visualizations using SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and other reporting tools to improve visibility of business performance and support data-driven decision making.
Controls and Governance
+ Maintain appropriate financial controls across planning, forecasting and reporting processes.
+ Support compliance with Sony accounting policies, US GAAP and internal governance requirements.
+ Work collaboratively with RTR, PTP, OTC, Tax, Statutory and Home Office Finance teams to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting.
+ Identify financial risks, data quality issues and reporting improvements, escalating where appropriate.
Projects, Reporting Innovation & Continuous Improvement
+ Drive continuous improvement through standardization, automation and the adoption of digital finance tools.
+ Leverage SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), PowerApps, AI and advanced analytics to enhance reporting, planning and business insights.
+ Support the implementation of finance systems and reporting capabilities across APAC.
+ Contribute to regional and global finance transformation initiatives.
What You Need:
+ Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related disciplines with the professional accounting qualification (HKICPA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
+ Typically a minimum 2-4 years of experience in Commercial Finance or FP&A.
+ MS Office, Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, and proficient in using Data Visualization tools.
+ Experience with SAP BPC and reporting tools such as SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC), Power BI or Tableau.
+ Experience with PowerApps or similar workflow automation tools is advantageous.
+ Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail.
+ Curious, proactive and motivated to improve finance processes through technology, automation and AI.
+ Strong data visualization and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear and actionable insights.

**Tasks and Expected Contributions/Results:**
+ Lead investment oversight of the China insurance JV and AMC. Relying on deep and practical knowledge of the China investment market and insurance asset management practices, advise International Health (IH) Global Office, Cigna Investment Management (CIM) and Cigna corporate stakeholders on China investment markets, insurer practices, asset classes and specific assets

+ Partner with CIM to involve on quarterly CECL review and ongoing credit risk review through monitoring watchlist update; execute special review on troubled assets
+ Stay on top of relevant market trends and identify investment opportunities and risks
+ Monitor key balance sheet and asset-liability risk indicators relevant to investment oversight
+ Support strategic asset allocation reviews and assessment of portfolio positioning against liability characteristics and capital objectives
+ Assess emerging market, regulatory and financial risks that could impact the effectiveness of the JV's investment and balance sheet strategies
**Experience/Knowledge Requirements:**
+ Minimum of 10 years' experience overseeing the investments of an insurance asset portfolio as well as Asset Management Company; ALM experience is a plus

The Investment Banking Senior Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for assisting clients in raising funds in the capital markets, as well as in providing strategic advisory services for mergers, acquisitions and other types of financial transactions in coordination with the Institutional Banking team. The Investment Banking Senior Analyst also serves as an intermediary in trading for clients. The overall objective of this role is to act as a strategic advisor to our clients by formulating investment strategies and raising capital for clients.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Work with senior Banking, Capital Markets and Advisory (BCMA) officers and professionals and participate in particular client transactions projects or assignments as the junior member of the Investment Banking te/am
+ Responsible for organizing and analyzing sophisticated financial data used in client proposals and strategic plans
+ Prepare written recommendations, valuation materials and statistical exhibits for pitches and live deals
+ Conduct economic/financial research
+ Evaluate company's financial performance compared to overall industry and market trends
+ Build complex financial models for valuation purposes
**Recommended Qualifications:**
+ 2-5 years of relevant experience
+ Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
+ Ability to work under pressure in a rapidly changing environment in order to meet deadlines
**Education:**
+ Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience

**Client engagement and origination (support)**

**Marketing and communication**
+ Work with marketing and communication partners to promote HSBC's efforts in this space including participating in (and where appropriate, supporting speaking opportunities at) industry events.
**To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:**
+ Ability to support cross-functional initiatives to identify sustainability-driven business opportunities within a client segment, helping bankers position relevant solutions and deepen client relationships.
